Hi
Welcome to the latest edition of FuelWatcher,
the newsletter that saves Australian motorists
money with fuel saving tips and information.
Media attention places alternate fuels in
spotlight
As we search for environmentally friendly
alternatives to our current fuel sources, debate
continues over the benefits and detriments of
using alternate fuels, such as ethanol. Recent
media attention has brought this topic into the
spotlight, and we have received a number of
emails from FuelWatchers in recent weeks
requesting information about alternate fuels. In
response, we have invited Guest Editor Damien
Reed to investigate some of the alternate fuels
being developed and in use, to be featured in
our newsletters in coming months. To set off the
series Damien has investigated an exciting
development in the use of zero emission,
hydrogen-powered fuel cell technology. It makes
for an interesting read, so make sure you catch
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Hits the Streets. Stay tuned
for the next article in the series in next
month’s newsletter!
ePriceBoard
FuelWatch currently reports unleaded petrol
prices for over 3500 service stations each day
and our aim is to increase the coverage to all
service stations in Australia. Several months
ago we launched ePriceBoard, a service that
allows service station owners and operators to
submit their prices to FuelWatch, meaning we
have the potential to report prices for every
service station in Australia. This is great news
for motorists, as well as service stations, who
can reach the FuelWatch audience all over the
country. More great news is the role you, the
user, can play in helping to expand our
coverage. We invite you to take an
ePriceBoard
brochure with you next time you fill up, which
will entitle that service station to register
and use ePriceBoard free of charge, simply
because you requested they become a part of the
FuelWatch network. You can help FuelWatch
continue to expand our coverage to bring you the
best prices, simply by letting your local
service station know you want to see them on
FuelWatch.
Change is coming!
Based on all your feedback over the past few
months we have been extremely busy redeveloping
FuelWatch. We are almost finished with the
improvements, and to celebrate the launch of the
new website we’ll be giving away some great
prizes, so stay tuned for the coming launch
date! Until next month, continue to enjoy the
savings!

Does High Performance Equal High
Mileage
Marketing has a lot to answer for when it
comes to selling cars. After decades of
stereotyping, it’s too late to change
perceptions and no matter how much convincing
and hard facts you may present, when you mention
a performance car, the general reaction is you
don’t give a damn about economy. [Read

Each month we will have a fuel saving tip that has
been sent in from one of our FuelWatcher's. If you know of a way that can help
other FuelWatcher's save money on their fuel bill please
send it in. If your tip is published we will send you a $25 FREE fuel
voucher.
This month's winner is Alan Cameron from
Victoria.
"When you get in
your car, settle in the kids, adjust the
mirrors, fasten your seatbelt, ensure that all
passengers are belted in and check all other
details before you turn on the engine. If these
little preparations take two minutes, then four
trips per day, five days per week, add up to 34
hours a year when your car engine is idling and
doing nothing!"
Congratulations,
your $25 free fuel voucher is on the way!
