Welcome to winter from the team at MotorMouth.
We have two topics for this month’s newsletter – and as the saying goes there’s good news and bad news.
First, the good news.
Google have finally released the latest version of their iGoogle home page, which means that the mapping feature and other improvements we installed back in February on the Petrol Price Tracker gadget will now work as it should. There are over 600,000 people in Australia with their own iGoogle home page and the MotorMouth Petrol Price Tracker is one of the most popular gadgets available. If you would like an iGoogle home page it’s really simple – go to http://www.google.com.au/intl/en/help/ig/petrolprice/. Check out the video, click on the link to add the gadget to your new iGoogle home page. Simple!
The bad news is that world oil (and refined petrol) prices are on their way back up – which you can see clearly at the Australian Institute of Petroleum website.

There’s a zillion reasons why this is happening but mostly it comes down to more demand (or expected future demand) for oil and fuel. Some are arguing that it means the world economy is looking a bit brighter for the future and not so dark and stormy; all we know is that it means higher fuel prices and that puts more pressure on household (and business) budgets at a time when many can least afford it.
Finally, stay tuned for a bit of a party next month – we can’t give too much away just yet but there is more good news to come.
Take care and safe motoring,
Sean Rennick
