FuelWatch Happenings
  Hi

Welcome to the 10th edition of FuelWatcher, the newsletter that saves Australian motorists money with fuel saving tips and information.

Read all about it! The Courier Mail and The Daily Telegraph launch FuelWatch.
FuelWatch has just recently launched a partnership with The Courier Mail in Brisbane and The Daily Telegraph in Sydney, meaning fuel prices are now available to hundreds of thousands more motorists daily via these newspapers and websites . This is just another exciting step forward in our goal of making fuel price information available to all Australian motorists.

HTML Emails
FuelWatch has continued to innovate in response to our user’s demands. Based on the positive feedback we received after introducing HTML emails to Brisbane, we have introduced HTML emails to all cities. The response to the change has been overwhelming and we continue to receive positive feedback on the new look emails.

Your Suggestions
Over the past month we have been asking you what we can do to improve the FuelWatch service, and once again we have been overwhelmed with your responses. From your feedback we are obviously doing a lot right! But we have also received a number of excellent suggestions that we are looking forward to implementing in the coming months. One of the major changes that will be occurring will see the inclusion of diesel and LPG prices, an inclusion that will no doubt increase our appeal to a much wider audience. So keep your eye out for these changes in the coming months and make sure you tell your friends so they too can benefit from the future updates to FuelWatch.

Until next month, continue to enjoy the savings!

What's News

Damien Reid, our guest editor, with more fascinating news on the Fuel and Auto front.

New Age Diesels Running Cleaner and Further
In America they ride in Lincolns and Cadillac's, in Australia they're in Statesmans and LTDs but England's politicians are thinking green and have dumped the opulence of 12-cylinder Jaguars and Damliers for frugal LPG-powered cars and ultra-low sulphur diesels. [Read more]

Comfort, Power AND Amazing Economy!
It's not often we get to trump the car manufacturers with better fuel economy figures than the glossy brochure, but that's exactly what we did after a long distance test behind the wheel of Renault's new 3-litre, 24-valve V6 Laguna Estate. [Read more]

New car reviews proudly supplied by AutoSpeed.

Big and brawny, but surprisingly good drives.
Both the Holden Jackaroo SE and its up-market brother - the Monterey - have been around for a number of years. With the speed with which automotive technology and models change, you could be forgiven for thinking that both cars are, well, somewhat out of date. However, we were impressed with the pair - the pronounced trade-offs of off-road style four-wheel drives not being as apparent in these vehicles as in some others of the genre. [Read more]

Solid and Dependable
These days, the medium car market really has a surplus of good cars. (It used to be called the small car market, but they aren't really small cars anymore.) There are cars available like the Holden Astra, Toyota's 100kW Corolla, the soon-to-be-released Ford Focus - and the Volkswagen Golf.[Read more]

Fuel Saving Tips
Each month we will have a fuel saving tip that has been sent in from one of our FuelWatcher's. If you know of a way that can help other FuelWatcher's save money on their fuel bill please send it in. If your tip is published we will send you a $25 FREE fuel voucher.

This month's winner is Eu-Jzin Tan from Victoria.

"Drive smartly...service and tune your car at least once a year and also check your tyre pressure at least once a month. Increasing pressures by 2-5psi can help reduce fuel consumption without greatly affecting handling or safety. Also check for uneven tyre wear, this decreases fuel efficiency."

Congratulations, your $25 free fuel voucher is on the way!
