Hello again from the team at MotorMouth!
Well it’s that time of the year again and we’ve got a special Christmas edition just for you.
But firstly – to current fuel prices. We can feel the collective sigh of relief from around the country as fuel prices continue to drop compared to the terribly high prices earlier this year. Here’s a word of caution though coming up to Christmas. Given that Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both occur on a Thursday this year, we are giving you fair warning – don’t be surprised if during the week leading up to Christmas that the price cycle doesn’t follow its usual pattern. Our advice is watch the prices closely and fill up before you hit empty – don’t wait until you only have petrol fumes in the tank before filling up! It’s hard to get the best deal when you’re pushing the car!
In other news, this month we have reinstated the ‘Refer a friend’ function on the website. We had to disable it earlier this year because a certain clever clogs worked out how to use it to send lots and lots of spam to people all across the world (not MotorMouth members though – your personal information is perfectly safe). Now that’s it back online you will need to enter the words from a picture to verify sending the referral – this is so only human beings can use this function and not nasty spam robots like last time.
We’re also running another poll this month about myPriceboard. Briefly, myPriceboard is a service for any service station owner in Australia to put their prices on MotorMouth. However we need YOU to tell your local servo about it – and the more people that do this will create more interest from servos to participate. So if you haven’t told your local servo about myPriceboard (and last month over 87% of you thought it was a great idea to do so) then why is that? If you’re shy that’s ok, but we really need your help to get the message out there. If you have told your servo about myPriceboard, thank you very much!
Please do take care on the roads over the break and make some allowance for your fellow motorists who might not be paying as much attention as they should. We’d take getting home safely over being right any time. Think about it. From all of us here at MotorMouth, have a great Christmas and New Year. We are taking a little break and our next newsletter will be in February 2009.
Cheers
Sean Rennick
