MotorMouth Happenings

Hello and welcome to the March 2007 issue of the MotorMouth Newsletter.

This Months Prize

MotorMouth Goes Mobile!
In an exciting world first, MotorMouth is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with Telstra to bring fuel prices to your mobile phone.

The service, called My Fuel, is now available on Telstra 3G and Next G and you can find it under Info & Travel on the Bigpond portal.

(It's a little hard to find... but well worth the search!)

My Fuel conveniently provides all of the MotorMouth pricing information that you know and love when you want it most – just before you fill up.

It's subscription free and you can bookmark your favourite service stations for ease of return.

We think it’s a winner – and hope that it will be a new tool in your arsenal for fighting rising petrol prices!

But please do not use your mobile phone whilst your vehicle is in motion or on the service station forecourt.

Until next month...

Alan Price

This Months Prize

This month's winner is David from Oak Park in VIC .

David's entry - Soft foot saves fuel

"As a passenger, I have noticed how some people drive by "jabbing" the accelerator. They do this even when they only want to adjust their speed by a couple of k's.

This is a terrible waste of fuel, and not good for the engine and driveline.

The way to avoid this is to imagine their is an egg between the bottom of your foot and the accelerator. You would then only apply gentle pressure on the accelerator to avoid breaking the imaginary egg."

Congratulations David! Your prize will be sent out to you shortly.

EMAIL IN AND WIN!

Kia cee'd: the Korean car made in Europe
The model expected to change Kia's image as the cheap and cheerful car company could begin arriving in the middle of 2007. However, the cee'd small car is expected to be so popular in Europe, Australia could have to wait much longer for the volume-selling five-door model.

Slot right in
The new Lotus Europa S has been criticised in some circles for being "too soft". You've got to be kidding I thought as the low riding coupe crunched its way over yet another irregularity in the road surface.

Tray chic Falcon, and what a gas
There's many choices to make when buying a car. So why would it be any different if you're after a ute? First there's the choice of brand, the design, then the type of tray. And to add to your dilemma, government incentives mean you should probably also consider gas. And if you're after this last option, the Ford XR6 E-gas is the only place to turn for an LPG dedicated factory fitted ute.

Cheap cuts overshadow core values
On the face of it, Mitsubishi's second-generation Outlander looks to be a significant improvement over its predecessor. Not that the first one was that bad. But the compact 4WD has received a much needed nose job, a roomier cabin, a third row option and stronger engine performance.
