Hello FuelWatchers,
FANTASTIC NEWS: The
FREE daily emails are returning very soon!
FuelWatch
is relaunching as MotorMouth (www.motormouth.com.au) in late March
2004. MotorMouth will essentially be a re-branded FuelWatch with
superior services at no cost. You will be able to search for fuel
prices without registration or restriction and opt-in to receive
FREE personalised fuel price email updates. We are also adding
a number of other helpful services to the daily emails for free.
Effectively, MotorMouth will be an improved FuelWatch with free
services.
Why the changes?
The main reason for the changes is that we listened to our users
and responded. The restricted searching and user-pays email delivery
model introduced in early 2003 was not well-liked and many users
found the FuelWatch website difficult to navigate. We took your
comments and feedback seriously and created MotorMouth (www.motormouth.com.au).
The MotorMouth website will be much easier to use than the FuelWatch
website and will provide unrestricted fuel price searching and
free daily emails.
Why MotorMouth?
We have invested a great deal
of time in the past six months developing a site that would offer
the best possible service to Australian motorists from a fuel
pricing perspective. It is our vision that over time MotorMouth will
become a more comprehensive website than FuelWatch and a first-rate
source of information for Australian motorists. We will always offer
unrestricted fuel price searching and free daily emails for those
who would like them, but we also hope to offer additional motoring
information for Australian drivers.
How will we make money?
As FuelWatch
(MotorMouth) is a small privately owned company (that is not funded
by Government, big business or the oil companies), we need to be
financially viable. The cost of providing the fuel pricing data,
paying our staff to manually collect prices each day throughout the
country and hosting the Fuelwatch website means that we must
generate income to be able to continue to offer the service to
Australian motorists. We are confident that through the relaunch
site improvements we will attract many more users and along with
that, strategic advertising partners. So remember, get behind
those businesses that advertise with MotorMouth because they are the
reason that MotorMouth will be free! Our excellent SMS services
will remain a user-pays service, simply because it is an expensive
service to provide.
So what does this mean for you?
It means that
from the 31 March you are going to have access to a better fuel
pricing service at no cost! It’s a Win – Win situation!
What do you need to do to get to
the MotorMouth website and receive daily emails?
From the 31 March you will
need to go to www.motormouth.com.au instead of www.fuelwatch.com.au
to access the best fuel prices in your area. If you go to the
www.motormouth.com.au website now, you will be redirected to
www.fuelwatch.com.au, so we recommend that you get in early and add
MotorMouth to your favourites now. If you are receiving FuelWatch
email alerts now, or would like to in the future when it’s free, we
recommend you add www.motormouth.com.au to your list of approved
sites. That way you are assured a smooth transition of services.
Will you be refunded your money if
after 30 March 2004 you still have time remaining on your WatchLists?
Yes.
All users, who on the 30 March 2004 still have credits or time
remaining on their WatchLists, will be refunded for the credits
and/or the time remaining on their WatchLists. Those users who have
scheduled to receive daily emails after the 31 March will of course
continue to receive fuel price email updates, but the service will
then be free!
So all in all, the launch of MotorMouth is great news for
Australian motorists. Spread the word to your friends and remember
if you are not currently receiving daily fuel price email updates,
take advantage of the service from 31 March 2004, when it will be
free!
Until next month,
Kind Regards,
Bernadette Murray Marketing Manager - FuelWatch bmurray@fuelwatch.com.au |

PROPERTY BOOM EXTENDS TO OFF STREET PARKING
The boom in residential property values over the past
decade has fuelled activity in many supplementary markets such
as the renovation supplies market, the real estate sales and leasing
market and has revolutionized the finance market.
However, a new market has come out of left field as
a result of escalating property prices. That is, the market for
Off Street Parking. That’s right, the often bare strip of cement,
which by definition is ‘property’ has enjoyed the ride and come
into a value of its own. And here we are not talking about that
commercial parking bay operating in central CBD – we are talking
about your residential drive way or garage or
allocated apartment car spot.
And like all markets, where supply is limited and
diminishing, particularly as one nears any central location, and
demand is growing, prices tend to rise.
So how does a driveway or garage owner benefit from
the improving value of their drive way? They can’t sell it without
selling the rest of their house with it, but, they can rent it
out! What has been missing was an easy and convenient means by
which these driveway owners could meet potential renters.
This was the motivation for a new Australian owned
business presented in the form of a web site www.offstreetparking.com.au.
Here, owners and those with an entitlement to rent their parking
spots place an ad and those seeking off street parking contact
them and make arrangements to rent it you.
A true win/win situation for all concerned.
Off Street Parking is offering FuelWatchers (only) a
special rate to list their off street parking for rent. For only
$19.80, that's a discount of $10, FuelWatchers can list their
spare car space and possibily make $20-$50 extra per week. To
take advantage of this special offer click

New Mazda3 makes a statement
Mazda's ever-popular 323 is a hard act to follow, but watch
out for the new small contender. Mazda's incredibly successful
and much-loved 323 – which would have turned 27 this year – has
done a Parrot Sketch and is no more. Its replacement – following
the simple numerical formula adopted by other recent Mazda models
– is the Mazda3.

Each
month we will have a fuel saving tip that has been sent in from one
of our FuelWatchers. If you know of a way that can help other
FuelWatchers save money on their fuel bill please send it in. If your tip is
published we will send you a $25 FREE fuel voucher.
This month's winner is Graham, East
Brisbane, QLD
"I drive mostly in the city ( Brisbane ) and, as I am a
self-funded retiree, I make a determined effort to conserve fuel
consumption by addressing 3 conditions. They are:
1. I access Fuel Watch daily, to ascertain those service stations
in close proximity to my residence which are offering the best
litre prices. I also find out which service station offers the
cheapest price, and if I am able to include a trip for business
purposes in that locality I will buy there;
2. On any given day, I will try to combine as much business
as possible in the one trip so that I am minimising the use
of the car; and
3. I keep to the speed limit,
but try, by the change of speed, to catch as many green lights as
possible."
Congratulations
Graham, your $25 free fuel voucher is on the
way! |
