FuelWatch Happenings
  Hi

Welcome to the latest edition of FuelWatcher, the newsletter that saves Australian motorists money with fuel saving tips and information.

The all-new FuelWatch is coming!!

In the last quarter of 2002 we invited you, our users, to send us suggestions on how we could improve the FuelWatch website. We were blown away by the amount of positive feedback we received and knew we had to put it all to good use!  So we have spent the past few months sifting through the best ideas and designing a new website around them, with the ultimate aim of saving you more time and money.

The result is the all-new FuelWatch and we are extremely pleased to announce a launch date of Monday, February 17th. Some of the exciting changes include a personalised WatchList service, SMS updates and coverage of a range of fuel types. Click here to find out all about the WatchList service, the central feature of the all-new FuelWatch.

In the lead up to the launch next Monday we will keep you informed about what to expect from the new website, and what changes you can anticipate. We will be celebrating the launch with some fantastic giveaways as well, so stay tuned!

Until next month, continue to enjoy the savings!

What's News

Damien Reid, our guest editor, with more fascinating news on the Fuel and Auto front.

The Surprise Economy Run – In a V8 Holden!
Recently, we tested a twin-turbo Subaru Liberty B4 automatic to see if a high performance car could still be economical and to our surprise, it’s average figure of 8.8 litres per 100 kms over nearly 2000 kilometres was good news.

Since then, some have claimed that if driven lightly, the turbos would get little use and therefore the Liberty would be comparable to many other family-sized four-cylinder cars on the open road.

Fuel Saving Tips
Each month we will have a fuel saving tip that has been sent in from one of our FuelWatcher's. If you know of a way that can help other FuelWatcher's save money on their fuel bill please send it in. If your tip is published we will send you a $25 FREE fuel voucher.

This month's winner is Sandy Oswald from Queensland.

"Check tyre pressure once a month. Correct pressure saves petrol and could save you 50% on the cost of tyres as well. Check your tyres for uneven wear. Proper alignment saves petrol and tyres."

Congratulations, your $25 free fuel voucher is on the way!
